"I used to make this appetizer when it was my turn to host the neighborhood Pictionary parties. It was always a favorite.

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

1/4 teaspoon chili powder -- (1/4 to 1/2)

1 small onion -- finely chopped

1/2 medium green pepper -- finely chopped (about 1/4 cup)

1 16-oz can mashed refried beans

1 8-oz can tomato sauce

1 1 1/4 oz. package taco seasoning mix

Finely shredded lettuce

Shredded Cheddar cheese

SOUR CREAM TOPPING:

1 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

Cook and stir ground beef in 10-inch skillet until brown; drain. Stir in mustard, chili powder, onion, green pepper, beans, tomato sauce and seasoning mix. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Spread in ungreased 9" glass pie plate.

Spread Sour Cream Topping over ground beef mixture. Sprinkle with lettuce and cheese. Serve with corn chips if desired.

Makes about 3 1/2 cups dip.
